Solid-clouds

Not sure what solid-clouds are yet. They are more solid than real world clouds, but they don't have to be much more solid. Perhaps ranging from the firmness of new-fallen snow to that of springy moss. It could be very difficult to tell also, making walking on solid-clouds treacherous. Sky Vines grow into, and from, solid-clouds.
I was thinking more like the feeling of the water saturated beach sand meets snow. so it withstands initial impact well, but motion makes it give way.
- I like this kind of feel for them. Let's go with it. Perhaps more or less "saturation" could be associated with the moisture of the cloud. Then the solid-clouds are most firm when they are driest. However, too little water and they become crumbly like sand, and fall apart. This could mesh nicely with the Fay Dust method of formation. Perhaps there's so much Fay Dust in the atmosphere that it clumps up with water and forms solid-clouds. Too much water and it rains Fay Dust (Fay mud?), too little water and the solid-clouds disperse.
Questions
- Where do solid-clouds come from?
- Perhaps Fairie Dust getting caught in clouds?
- Do they have any special properties? (other than being, well, solid?)
- Do certain creatures or Fay eat solid-clouds?
- Are they changeable and transitory like real clouds?
