The info here is in a state of flux, everything can be changed!

Mogan Borzarth, also known as "Bloody Borzarth" is a pirate. Bound by a strict code of loyalty and honor, Mogan captains The Woe on its mission of loot and plunder.

Questions:

  • Is Mogan human? A robot? An alien? A Fairy?
  • Male, female, or neuter?
  • History? Background?
  • Should we let people who are obviously represented in the comic have input about their alter ego (i.e. Morgan Bozarth)?

Possibilities

Of these three listed possibilities, I like the Cyborg one the best. Ziggy 17:47, 15 April 2008 (UTC)

Cyborg

Mogan is a cyborg from Zarth, escaped into Faierie. His ship and body contain large amounts of iron, which negates Fay magic making him a true menace to all fay. He is only kept at bay by his technologies reliance on the consistent workings of the laws of physics, which tend to break down in the highly Fay populated regions.

Mogan has found himself to be nearly untouchable as far as the fay are concerned, so all he has to do is act like any technologically powerful newcomer... Overawe the natives into giving him whatever they want, and then taking these goods back to his home in exchange for wealth, fame, and power. A good twist would be that Mogan doesn't know how to get back, and so is surviving by raiding Fay villages for food and fuel. Perhaps he will eventually come to the Hozz brothers, after he learns that their house has portals between worlds.

Alternately, Mogan could be in the "real world" and attempting to reach Faierie.

Changeling

Mogan is a changeling. Handsome and strong, he was a pirate on earth, the Second Mate aboard an irish raiding vessel. While in port after a sucessful raid he fell in love and gave up his pirating ways to settle down. The dawn after he was married the Fay took him in his sleep. On a shore of the Three Seas a fay lives alone. Old and near death, this fay wanted Mogan for a servant for the last few months of his life. The fay neglected to transfer Mogan's servant-bond (the spell that bound him to serve the fay) so when he died Mogan was free. After a few weeks of gathering his wits, Mogan recalled his stolen life, and once again took up his old employment. After many years of sailing the Three Seas, he has gathered a crew, and a ship of the sort that the Fay employ. He considers the fay less than animal, and where before he sailed for riches, now he sails only for revenge. His ship is packed with the dust of captured and enslaved fay.

Mogan has learned how to partially utilize the energies of the Fay, and those who consent to serve him he lets keep some coporeal form. He has given up on ever returning and regaining his lost love, but perhaps he will learn of the House of Hozz and seek it out to finally return home.

Rogue Fay

Mogan is a long-lived fay who decided to take up the life of a rover and scoundrel. Galavanting about in an airship (actually made of air? Some kind of elemental tornado?) Mogan wreaks wreck and wruin acwross the cwountryside.

This option seems the least plausable to me. The fay are, by nature, fickle and unstable. Therefore, a fay Mogan would seem to be more of a 'force of nature' kind of pirate than an actual real-bad-person kind of pirate. And really, with a last name of Borzarth, Mogan has to be pretty bad.
