Types?

Are there different types of Fayrie depending on the enviroment?

Some ideas: Aeriels live high in the solid clouds. They have substantial wings. Sylphs live among the skyvines and some forests. Sylphs resemble traditional butterfly winged faeries. They vary in size from tiny to larger than life depending on their age or status. Their wings become ineffectual and decorative once they grow larger than children. Dryads live in the upper forests and are not at all like monkeys. Nymphs live in the deep forest. They are earthbound.

Good stratification. I like it! This means that the Nymphs are the most likely to encounter the HOZZ brothers first, and also have the most human characteristics. We'll have to work out some sketches of the different types of fay. Ziggy

Gender and Society

Having different types of fay distributed vertically above ground might be a good compromise to the gender debate. Nymphs have the most balanced culture with men playing a large role in hunting and defense. Sylph females have magic but males do not. This creates a matriarchy based on relationships and alliances between female mages. Aeriels are completely female.
